Tooth Whitening

Your smile is one of your biggest assets. It is the first thing that people notice about you. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful and it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression.

The colour of your teeth is influenced by a number of factors. Tea, coffee, red wine and smoking are known to stain teeth. Here at Simply Bright, we have two perfect solutions to give you a brighter confident white smile. First, our dentists will carry out a thorough clinical examination of the teeth and gums, and will then be able to assess the suitability of these treatments for your teeth, and advise you accordingly.

Take Home Whitening System

This is the most safe and predictable way to whiten your teeth. Bespoke whitening trays are firstly constructed by our team of expert technicians. We then supply you with the whitening gel and application instructions. The trays, loaded with the whitening agent is then worn at your leisure at home, whilst you are at work, or even overnight.

Simply Bright Power Whitening

This system is unique to Simply Bright and is designed for those looking for a more intensive whitening system to achieve and maintain that beautiful white smile. It uses a combination of the take home system, with the bespoke trays, followed by an in office power whitening boost, to penetrate deeper into the tooth, and produce a more profound and lasting colour change.

Invisalign
(Clear braces)

At Simply Bright get straight to the smile that you’ve always wanted, painlessly, effortlessly and invisibly. We can give you beautiful straight teeth without having to wear unsightly and uncomfortable metal braces. Whilst metal braces produce beautiful results, many would-be clients would never consider wearing them for fear of looking unattractive during the process. Fortunately, Invisalign produces exactly the same results - and is virtually invisible.

What is the procedure?

Your teeth will be carefully examined and our dentist will discuss how the system works, and tailor make a system that is unique to each individual. Once your treatment has been planned a series of clear aligners are custom made to fit your mouth using the latest computer technology which are designed to move the teeth in an effective harmless way, similar to conventional metal wires and brackets. The treatment is carefully monitored to ensure that the movements are effective and comfortable.

Invisible braces can be used to treat :

● Crowding where teeth are all too close together

● Gaps between the teeth

● Front teeth that stick out

Veneers

Your smile is important, and studies have shown that a beautiful smile is the key to personal and professional success.

At Simply Bright, we create beautiful and natural smiles with porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin custom made shells of porcelain that are bonded on the front surface of the teeth. Offering a natural look, veneers allow the dentist to change the length, width, colour and shape of a tooth. They can also be used to close gaps between teeth, and to straighten crooked or misaligned teeth.

Porcelain veneers are an excellent way to fix chipped, worn, discoloured and misshapen teeth. Offering a natural look and feel, with a minimally invasive technique, porcelain veneers are a dentist’s greatest tool in enhancing your smile.

Fillings

Fillings are required when the tooth structure becomes decayed creating a cavity (hole) in the tooth. The dentist will first remove all the decay, and then fill the cavity with a natural looking tooth coloured material called composite. Composite restorations are bonded to the tooth, hence requiring minimal preparation and strengthening the remaining tooth. They are colour-matched to the surrounding tooth, making them appear almost invisible.

Endodontics
(Root canal therapy)

If a tooth’s pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels, becomes infected or damaged because of decay or injury, root canal treatment is often the only way to save your tooth. Root canal therapy is simply the removal of diseased or non-viable nerve and blood supply tissue from inside the tooth and roots.

● An opening is made from the top of the tooth into the pulp chamber.

● The canal opening(s) are identified.

● The canal(s) is / are shaped with progressively thicker ‘files’ to remove the diseased tissue.

● X-rays are taken to ensure that we have reached the end of the canal with the files.

● The canals are then shaped to allow access for the filling material to seal the end of the tooth.

● The canals are sealed with gutta percha (a thermoplastic material) and cement.

● The tooth is then built up with a filling material.

Root canal treated teeth are brittle, and therefore may need to be crowned to provide extra protection. At Simply Bright, we can provide the very latest technology for the root canal therapy using ultrasonic rotary equipment, which means that we are able to achieve predictable and successful results with the greatest efficiency.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and Bridges refer to the restorations of natural teeth that have been damaged, decayed or lost. A crown is usually placed because the remaining tooth structure is not capable of adequately supporting or retaining a regular filling. In addition, a crown will help hold together and support the remaining tooth structure, minimising the chance that a tooth could fracture.

Bridges are used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Why is this important? Because the missing tooth changes the look of your smile, your bite, and puts stress on the surrounding teeth. In addition to this, the adjacent and opposing teeth can move and tilt into the space created by the missing tooth, resulting in unsightly gaps that are difficult to keep clean, and severe occlusal (bite) problems. There are many types of bridges available, and your dentist at Simply Bright will advise you as to which type is most suitable for you in each case. There are also various different options to replace a missing tooth or teeth, and your dentist will also explain these to you in great detail at your consultation appointment.

Dentures

Losing your natural teeth can be both distressing and damaging to your health. It could affect your confidence in your smile as well as your ability to chew food or speak properly.

A denture replaces missing teeth and adjacent tissues, and is a removable appliance. Made of resin and porcelain, complete dentures are used to replace all the teeth. When some healthy teeth remain, a partial denture can be used.

Dentures made by us at Simply Bright, do more than replace the teeth. They are fit ‘neuromuscularly’, meaning that they are precision-fit to provide the most optimum position for your jaw and bite, assuring comfort. Full and partial dentures improve chewing ability and speech, and support facial muscles as well as enhance your appearance.

Fissure Sealants

Fissure Sealants refers to a plastic material which our dentists will bond into the grooves of the chewing surface of a tooth, as a means of helping to prevent the formation of tooth decay. Some back teeth, especially molars, are difficult for a person to clean, because the grooves in the chewing part of the tooth (the pits and fissures) are deep and narrow.

Even though the person brushes, they cannot clean the plaque off adequately because the bristles of their toothbrush are literally too large to gain access into the bottom of the tooth’s grooves. Because some plaque is not cleaned off, a cavity can develop. At Simply Bright, our dentist can combat this situation, by bonding plastic (the fissure sealant) into the grooves of a tooth. The net result is that the surface of the tooth is somewhat flatter and smoother. Since plaque can be removed more easily from these tooth surfaces, there is much less chance that decay will start. This treatment is especially useful for children where newly erupted teeth can be protected from dental decay.

This includes: cricket, hockey and football, which can cause broken and damaged teeth; and boxing, wrestling and rugby which can all cause broken or dislocated jaws. A mouth / sports guard will help protect against these events. If you take part in any of these contact sports, Simply Bright can offer you a range of custom-made mouth guards, even with your own unique designs to follow a team emblem / logo.  Visit www.gumshields.com to see our unique range.

Mouth Cancer Screening

Mouth cancer can occur in any part of the mouth, including the tongue, lips, inside of the cheek and throat. Mouth cancer has a higher proportion of deaths per number of cases than breast, cervical or skin cancer. The mortality rate is just over 50% despite treatment, with about 1,700 deaths per year in the UK. This high mortality rate is because of late detection.

Here at Simply Bright, we check the mouth for any abnormalities or mouth cancers routinely as part of every dental check-up, using the very latest intra oral camera technology to examine places that the eyes may be unable to see. Visiting us regularly will allow for early detection.
